The death of Moonbin, a 25-year-old K-pop sensation, was revealed by his record label. South Korean media reported that police were called to his Seoul apartment on Wednesday night after his manager discovered him lifeless inside.
An autopsy is being reviewed to identify the specific cause of death, although police have indicated, “He appears to have taken his own life.” The artist Moonbin “unexpectedly left our world and became a star in the sky,” according to a tribute released by his label, Fantiago.
Before joining the successful boy band Astro at the age of 18, Moonbin tried his hand at acting and modeling.
He began performing as a pair with fellow Astro bandmate Sanha in 2020. The last stop on Moonbin & Sanha’s globe tour was in Bangkok on April 8th.

The Astro band members are reportedly flying back to Seoul on Thursday for Moonbin’s funeral, as reported by Fantiago. To allow Moonbin’s family time to grieve in peace, the label begged that the public “refrain from speculative and malicious reports” in a statement.
Sister Moon Sua, also known as Moon Sua, is a member of the K-pop girl group Billlie and is a cousin of Moobin. In prior interviews, the siblings have discussed their mutual dependence on one another.

While South Korea’s overall suicide rate is decreasing, deaths among those in their 20s are increasing, giving South Korea the highest incidence of youth suicide among developed countries.
Korea is a very competitive nation, and the government is working to minimize the high suicide rate there.
After starting out as a trainee on the Fantagio, Moonbin joined Astro. There were six members of the performing ensemble at one point, but in February of 2023, one of them quit.
Many people have been paying respect to Moonbin’s talent and kindness since he passed away. He was the star dancer of Astro and was known as a versatile performer.

Photos posted to social media sites on Wednesday night showed fans in South Korea creating makeshift street memorials by dropping flowers and post-it notes on the ground. Purple and silver balloons, which were conspicuous at the singer’s final concert with Sanha in Thailand, were also hung up by adoring fans.
Moobin and Sanha’s most recent EP was published in January, and their tour across Asia had been in support of that record. Korean network SBS said on Thursday that Moonbin had addressed fans at a concert that he had been going through a tough time.
“I have to be honest about something; I’m in a terrible mood right now. Since the concert began, there may have been several warning flags, and for that I am truly sorry.
I’ve started working out again and am making an effort to take up where I left off. In a live broadcast on social media, he remarked, “I chose this job so I need to be happy so that I can make fans happy as well.”
This Saturday, the duo was scheduled to perform in Macau; in May, they were also supposed to visit Indonesia and Japan.
