Kate Snow, a reporter for NBC News, has said that her husband, Chris Bro, has been diagnosed with the new coronavirus (COVID-19). Snow, 50, posted a video of herself making lunch for her husband on Sunday, describing how Bro feels sick with body aches, a slight fever, and tightness in his chest — “but not any trouble breathing.” Bro has not undergone a COVID-19 test.
In the video, Snow explains why she won’t be on NBC’s Nightly News this Sunday, but she will still be on TV in the following weeks; she’ll just be reporting from home while she and her kids deal with her husband’s illness.
Check below the tweeted video about Kate’s husband’s illness:
So you won’t see me anchor @NBCNightlyNews tonight. My husband @chrisbronext is sick with coronavirus. My kids and I are healthy. Chris is strong and we’re hopeful he’ll be better soon. Please send good thoughts and prayers our way. pic.twitter.com/zVydkJNyr2

“My husband, Chris Bro, is pretty sick,” Snow explains. The symptoms indicate that he has coronavirus, but he has avoided being tested because he doesn’t want to expose me or anybody else in the house. He’s staying in a guest room with an attached bathroom in the basement. And now I’m off to take him lunch.
Snow, already wearing gloves, adds, “So this is what my life is now”, as she dons a face mask to carry her husband’s tray of food downstairs. When asked, “How are you feeling?” Through his door, Snow calls out to Bro. It’s “a little better,” he says.
Snow adds an audio Bro made stating he doesn’t want anyone to go through what he did on his first night of fighting the sickness.
“Hello to everyone outside my four walls,” he can be heard saying on the recording. “Everything is going okay. In my case, the quality of my sleep is the only reliable indicator. The first evening was terrible. I hope nobody ever goes through it.
Even though Snow says, “It’s a little exhausting right now,” she still manages to end the video, hopefully. “Okay, hear me out. Snow concludes the little film by remarking, “He is a solid guy and very healthy.” And all of us are praying for the best. But any kind thoughts you can send our way would be greatly appreciated.
In the caption, Snow explains that her spouse, Instagram user @chrisbronext, has the coronavirus and that she is caring for him. “My family and I are all healthy. Chris is resilient, and we believe he will recover shortly. If you think about it, please say a prayer for us. The love and support of our family and friends over the past several days have been invaluable.
She posted a message on Facebook on Monday that said, “You can be afraid and brave at the same time.” She accompanied the comment with the words, “As a reporter, I always go to a scene, take it all in, ask questions, and then put a story together.”
Tonight on @nbcnightlynews, I’ll be reporting from my personal life so that things will be slightly different than usual. I appreciate your generosity. We are immensely relieved that @ChrisBroNext is doing better this morning. XOXO”
