Lee Zabelsky Obituary
Lee E. “Spanky” Zabelsky, 53, of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at Excela Health Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, October 15, 2023. His parents, LaVon “Vonnie” (Poskon) Zabelsky and the late Leo E. Zabelsky, gave birth to him on November 29, 1969, in McKeesport. Spanky was a contract tow operator for the city of Duquesne and co-owner of Leo’s Service Center with his brother Luke and son Jake.
Surviving Spanky is his mother, LaVon “Vonnie” Zabelsky; his wife of 29 years, Stephanie (Gajdos) Zabelsky; their son, Jake Steven Zabelsky; their daughter, Jenna Lee Zabelsky, and their three brothers, Luke Zabelsky, Lane (Tamara) Zabelsky, and Lenny Zabelsky. His wife’s parents, Joe and Mary Ann Gajdos, and sister Lauren; nephew Ethan Marec Zabelsky; niece Sophia Rose Zabelsky; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his father and mother.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 12 p.m., family and friends are invited to the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, for a blessing service with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski.
Funeral Ceremony
On Friday, October 20, 2023, at 6 p.m., there will be a funeral ceremony held at the American Croatian Club in Duquesne. On Saturday, October 21, at 7 p.m., the Foggy Mountain Lodge and Pub will host a memorial service for our dear Stahlstown friends and neighbors.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the funeral home in the form of trees, bushes, or shrubs to be planted in a memorial garden at Aleo Lake.
