Luke Knox Cause of Death: Dawson Knox looked up and gestured to the skies after scoring the touchdown that ultimately won the game for the Buffalo Bills in their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the middle of October 2022. On Twitter, he shared a photo of the celebration with the caption, “That one’s for you 16.” Dawson’s late brother, Luke Knox, wore the number 16 jersey during his time with the team.
Luke, like his brother, was a member of the Ole Miss Rebels football team. Nonetheless, he made a move to Florida International University so that he may play for the Panthers in the 2022 season. However, Luke didn’t get to participate in any of the actions because he passed away on August 17th, 2022.
FIU sports wrote on its Twitter account that they were “saddened by the tragic passing of Luke Knox, a member of the FIU Football Program.”

According to FIU Police Captain Delrish Moss, who spoke with NBC News, friends of Luke’s found him in his dorm room exhibiting signs of medical distress.’ Captain Moss continued: “A call was placed to the FIU police, and officers from the FIU police department responded. They arrived and attempted CPR until rescue personnel arrived and took over. After being taken to a nearby hospital by the Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Department, he passed away while he was a patient.
According to Detective Chris Thomas, the investigation into Luke’s death was taken up by the Miami-Dade Police Department, and they didn’t suspect any foul play. The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office has not disclosed the reason for Luke’s passing to the general public. Luke is survived by his four brothers and two parents, Dawson, LJ, Isaiah, and Nate Knox, and his parents, Rachel and David Knox. Dawson, acting on behalf of the family, tweeted the following message:
“Luke is not lost because we know exactly where he is. God’s got him, and I know I’ll be seeing him again one day.”

On September 3, 2020, Dawson shared an old photo of the two of them on his Instagram account, along with a comment in which he indicated his desire for a future reunion with Luke:
“There is no need to worry about Luke getting lost because we are fully aware of his location.” He is in God’s hands now, and I do not doubt we will meet again someday. The remarkable ways in which Luke has changed people’s lives will ensure that his legacy will continue after he is gone. This is not a farewell but a “see you later” in the future. I love you, Luke.
