Marcus played NCAA basketball for the University of Central Florida. He earned 1152 points during his time at college. In the opening game of the 2010–11 season, Marcus scored a career-high 28 points for UCF against the University of West Florida while shooting 8–11 from the field and 5-7 from beyond the arc.
He scored a team-high 18 points in a victory over Florida, who were ranked 16th, that same year. Marcus Jordan Controversy
In 2012, Marcus was arrested in Omaha for disorderly conduct after he got into a fight with two women in the hotel driveway early in the morning. When the hotel staff couldn’t stop Marcus from being drunk, they called the police to help. He was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, driving while drunk, and causing a disturbance, but he was freed the same night. Marcus later admitted to disturbing the peace and paid a fine of $250 and court costs.
