The NBA is set to introduce an exciting new chapter with its inaugural In-Season Tournament. Here’s a breakdown of what fans can expect:
The Basics
- The tournament kicks off on Friday, Nov. 3, during the 2023-24 regular season.
- The entire game schedule for the 2023-24 regular season will be unveiled on Thursday, Aug. 17.
- Group Play games, the initial stage of the tournament, are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays in November.
Broadcast Details
- ESPN and TNT will air a combined 14 games during Group Play.
- The first Tournament Night on Nov. 3 will showcase a doubleheader on ESPN, featuring the New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets vs. Dallas Mavericks.

Tournament Structure
- Each team will play four Group Play games between Nov. 3-28.
- Eight teams will progress to the Knockout Rounds, which include single-elimination games in the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Championship.
- The Semifinals and Championship will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Additional Regular-Season Games
- Teams not advancing to the Quarterfinals will play two regular-season games on Dec. 6 and Dec. 8.
- The Quarterfinals’ losing teams will face each other in a regular-season game on Dec. 8.
Prize Breakdown for Players
- Champions: $500,000 each
- Runners-up: $200,000 each
- Semifinal losers: $100,000 each
- Quarterfinal losers: $50,000 each
