Edward Kang, 20, was arrested following an incident where he broke into the victim’s home in Fernandina Beach, Florida, aiming to confront a player he knew from the online game ArcheAge, Sheriff Bill Leeper disclosed in a press conference.
Despite never meeting in person, Kang reportedly traveled from New Jersey to Jacksonville, Florida, and broke into the victim’s residence, where he assaulted him with a hammer during a confrontation early Sunday morning.
The victim, who sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries, was assisted by his stepfather in subduing Kang, who was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement.
