Based on Jane Austen’s last unfinished manuscript, Sanditon is a romantic comedy. The story follows Charlotte Heywood as she journeys to the seaside town of Sanditon, where she meets budding entrepreneurs, miserly grand dames, and handsome suitors. In Sanditon Season 2, Charlotte is reeling from the news that her first love, Sidney Parker (Theo James), has died.
However, she is quickly sidetracked by a position working as a governess for the withdrawn Alexander Colbourne. The two progressively form a friendship and eventually fall in love. Colbourne, on the other hand, squanders his opportunity to pop the question to Charlotte, setting off a fight between the two young people. At the end of Sanditon Season 2, we find that Charlotte has gone home to her family’s farm in Willingdon and has accepted a proposal from local farmer Ralph (Cai Bridgen).

Sanditon Season 3 Storyline
Decider has been told that Sanditon Season 3 will further examine the relationship between Charlotte and Colbourne. There’s always going to be a hitch.
“The type of cliffhanger of the season is that Charlotte is now engaged to Ralph,” Sanditon showrunner Justin Young told Decider. We’ll see her at the start of Season 3, then. In other words, she loves Colbourne. He loves her. That much is obvious to all of us. But now she’s engaged to Ralph and how is that going to play out?”
Young has also announced that Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos) will also return next season, but don’t expect him to make amends with Georgiana (Crystal Clarke). Still, things should be looking up for Miss Lambe. Crystal Clarke told Decider, “I feel pleased about where we leave Georgiana after these two seasons. It gives me a lot of satisfaction. I’m happy for people to see it and I’m excited to see what people’s reactions are going to be.”
A few characters that won’t be back in Sanditon Season 3? Colonel Lennox and Esther Babbington (Tom Weston-Jones) (Charlotte Spencer).
Although it may be spoiling things for some, I don’t expect to see Lennox again in Season 3. A part of him has vanished,” Young declared. At the end of Season 2, Esther has everything she’s ever desired. That’s where I think we leave her.” She’s happy, married, and now she has a child that she adores so I suppose that’s the conclusion of Esther’s tale as far as I’m concerned.”

Like a novel, I believe that we must respect the fact that each character has a certain story to tell. So when their tales are done, rather than just having them in the type of ensemble treading water, I’d rather just say that’s the end of their story and they go on and we bring new characters in,” Young added.

Conclusion
In my opinion, Charlotte will face a major conflict in Season 3 as she tries to balance living up to everyone’s high expectations with doing what she actually wants in life. And, of course, Charlotte, Colbourne, and good ol’ farmer Ralph will be at the core of a lot of that internal fight.
