Sarah Forgany, the morning anchor for KENS, had surgery on Monday and is now in the intensive care unit due to complications. Her family updated their Facebook status to announce that Forgany was being kept alive by a ventilator.
Sarah’s postoperative recovery was hampered by problems yesterday morning. Now she’s on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. Doctors say she will need to rest in the hospital for weeks, so we have no idea how long she will remain.

She is optimistic and steadfast in her faith, but your prayers and well wishes for a swift recovery are deeply appreciated. Forgany has been with the CBS affiliate in San Antonio since 2010.
“First memory of Venice, Italy … landing in the ER for several days,” she wrote in the post. “Unfortunately I had to cut my vacation short and fly back to the U.S. to be admitted to a hospital here. I’m thankful for the Italian hospital and doctors who got me through some dark days but I’m so glad I was able to return to the U.S. ASAP to continue my treatment here.”
According to MySA, Forgany was hospitalized upon her return to the United States after a medical emergency “cut [her] vacation short” in Italy in March. She was released from the hospital on March 17 and did not explain her stay. She was previously hospitalized in March, although it is unclear if the present medical difficulties she is experiencing are connected to that stay.
