Shaggy, a Jamaican-American musician best known by his stage name Richard Burrell, had hits with the songs “Boombastic,” “It Wasn’t Me,” and “Angel.”
On October 22, 1968, Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica. His parents, Lorraine and Clinton, moved the family to Brooklyn, New York City when he was seven.

“Every weekend, I would drive up to New York to produce music. I sometimes returned too late. And because I have a big mouth, I mouthed off quite a bit. You’ll be caught doing things like that, ” he added.
