There have been a lot of theories about who would play Kate, the protagonist of The Viscount Who Loved Me in the second season of Bridgerton, since Netflix announced the show’s renewal. It was revealed in February of 2021 that actress Simone Ashley will assume the role, which was confirmed by the streaming giant.
Season 2 of Bridgerton will have a new lead character named Kate, played by actress Simone Ashley. “Anthony Bridgerton can count on Kate to be a sharp, headstrong young lady who takes no nonsense from anyone.”
According to the official Bridgerton account, who was posing as Lady Whistledown, “Dear readers, prepare yourself for a mouthful of juicy rumours… The author of this piece is eagerly anticipating Kate Sharma’s upcoming columns.”

Simone Ashley is known for her work on Sex Education.
As a result, she has a working knowledge of Netflix’s operations. Broadchurch also included Ashley in a part.

Author Julia Quinn is excited about the casting.
“I can’t imagine a better Kate for myself. Look at her look in the first picture! “On Instagram, the author commented.
The name Kate is being changed.
She is Kate Sheffield in the books, but she will be known as “Kate Sharma” in the television series, and her Indian origin will be an important part of the storyline.
She’s one of several new characters joining the story in season two.
There are “a lot of new characters we are going to be presenting,” Bridgerton showrunner Chris Van Dusen remarked on the Today show back in January of last year.
After seeing the first season of the programme, I’m confident that Anthony will have a love interest in season two, and I think it’s going to be just as poignant and beautiful as viewers have come to expect.”
Netflix has already added four new cast members, including Charithra Chandran, who will play Kate’s sister Edwina, Shelley Conn, who plays the Sharma family matriarch, Calam Lynch, who plays Theo, a young printer, and Rupert Young, the heir to the Featherington estate.
