It’s been almost two years since the first season of Star Trek: Picard was published on Amazon Prime Video, but Trekkies won’t have to wait too long for a fresh run.
The second season of Star Trek: Picard will premiere in March, and a new teaser video has been published to give fans a taste of what to anticipate.
Whoopi Goldberg’s return as El-Aurian bartender Guinan, which she played for 29 episodes in Star Trek: The Next Generation, may be the most thrilling part of the teaser thus far.
This is the second teaser for the new series, after the revelation that John De Lancie will be reprising his legendary role in season two of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
And that’s not all; the trailer also teases a major twist for Jeri Ryan’s Seven of Nine and suggests that the upcoming season will centre on time travel.
After a long delay owing to the coronavirus outbreak, filming on new episodes of Star Trek: Picard began in February 2021, with seasons two and three apparently being filmed simultaneously.
We’ve got all the details on the second season of Star Trek: Picard here.
Date of the release Star Trek: Picard Season 2
According to producers, the second season of Star Trek: Picard will premiere on March 4, 2022. To watch the series on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom, you may join up for a free trial of Amazon Prime.
After an early renewal, the series had planned to begin filming new episodes in June 2021, but the epidemic made that impossible. As a result, Picard will be returning much later than expected.
Fortunately, filming began, and Sir Patrick Stewart, the show’s star, was overjoyed.
A recent video from Paramount Plus quotes him as saying that he feels “additional delight” at being back in a “totally busy, completely healthy shooting setting,” given the circumstances of the previous year.
After the release of season two, there shouldn’t be too much of a break before Picard begins filming season three back-to-back.

Stars Of Star Trek: Picard Season 2
Aside from Sir Patrick Stewart, it appears that Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker), Santiago Cabrera (Chris Rios), Isa Briones (Soji Asha), Alison Pill (Dr. Agnes Jurati) and Evan Evagora (Elnor) will all be returning to the show as well.
Even though she appeared in the teaser, it’s unclear whether other Star Trek staples like Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, or Marina Sirtis (all of whom had guest parts in Picard season one) will also continue to appear. In any case, it’s possible that more of Stewart’s castmates from The Next Generation may appear on the show in some capacity.
Even Whoopi Goldberg, who portrayed Guinan in the 1980s/90s sitcom, has already been requested to return by Stewart himself, who summoned her live on US television show The View. Stewart.
It’s for you, Whoopi, I’m here with an official invitation,” he remarked. Alex Kurtzman, who serves as Picard’s senior executive producer, and all of his colleagues, including myself, are eager to welcome you into the second season of Star Trek: Picard.
SFX Magazine reports that Goldberg has accepted the show’s offer and intends to begin filming in the second season, though it’s not certain if she will have a significant part or only make brief appearances.
Her only exposure to Star Trek thus far has been the first season of Picard, which she deemed “excellent.” “Patrick and I often discuss Star Trek. Next year, I’m hoping to make an appearance on stage with them for a few episodes. That excites me much.”
Q, played by John De Lancie, has been confirmed to return on First Contact Day in April 2021 and will undoubtedly play a significant role in the upcoming film.
De Lancie has suggested that the fan-favorite villain would appear in both seasons two and three of Picard, and he has also starred in the animated spin-off series, Star Trek: Lower Decks.
It’s hard to say. It’s possible that we’ll see a lot of familiar people in season two.

What Can We Expect From Star Trek: Picard Season 2?
The season one conclusion basically wraps up the synthetic human/Romulan spy plotline, which might indicate that season two would explore other regions of the galaxy as Picard seeks to return Starfleet back to its better self.
Alternatively, Picard’s writers might decide to dive more into Romulan culture after introducing new components to it in season one of the series.
Star Trek: The Next Generation’s latest teaser shows that Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is still struggling to come to terms with her Borg background.
Picard’s promise to “rescue the future” and a billboard showing modern-day Los Angeles are both indicators that season two would entail time travel.
After using time as a weapon on The Next Generation, it’s likely Q will have an important part in mending the timeline.
It would be great if we could see more of Picard’s original Enterprise team doing what they did in season one.
Trailer For Star Trek: The Next Generation
Q’s long-awaited return was teased in a teaser for the second season of Picard that was published on Captain Picard Day in June 2021 – along with Patrick Stewart’s impassioned words and his legendary booming voice.
A second teaser was published in January 2022, which finally included Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan for the upcoming season. Take a look at this:
To commemorate the commencement of production, Paramount Plus announced a Wil Wheaton-hosted Q&A with Patrick Stewart in April 2021.
John de Lancie himself appeared in the video to confirm that fan-favorite Q will be returning in the upcoming episodes, which was an exciting development for everyone who loves John de Lancie’s work.
