Steven James Anderson, better known as Austin, was born on December 18, 1964, in Austin, Texas. When he was around a year old, Beverly (née Harrison) and James Anderson, his parents, divorced. When Austin was a child, his mother relocated to Edna, Texas, where he would spend the majority of his life and married Ken Williams. In order to avoid confusion, Austin legally changed his name to Steven James Williams after taking on his stepfather’s last name.
