Todd and Julie Chrisley Report to Prison: ET has confirmed that Todd and Julie Chrisley have just arrived at the prison.
The Chrisley Knows Best actors went to their respective institutions on January 17 to start serving their combined 19-year jail sentences after being found guilty in a federal tax fraud case. Todd, who received a 12-year prison term, reported to the minimum-security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Pensacola in Florida. On the other hand, Julie was initially supposed to report to FCI Marianna in Jackson County, Florida, just two hours away, but reported instead to Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky, after being re-designated to the facility on December 20. All security levels of detainees are held at FMC Lexington, including male and female inmates who require medical or mental health care. She was given a seven-year sentence.
Following the denial of their application for bail pending appeal, Todd and Julie, each given a 16-month probationary term, report to prison precisely one week after their motion was denied. They had asked to have their surrender deadline pushed back by 21 days.
After being found guilty of conspiring to conduct tax fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Chrisleys were sentenced back in November. Although the couple has frequently discussed an unfair legal system, their sentences—17 1/2 to 22 years for Todd and 10 to 12 1/2 years for Julie—are significantly lower than the prosecution had asked for.

Judge Rachel Juarez, who serves as the star of the first-ever three-judge CBS panel show Hot Bench and was not involved in the Chrisley case, discussed with ET what life might be like for Todd at FCI Pensacola. Juarez claims that the facility “has made a lot of lists as one of the easier places to do time in a federal system.” A Buffalo News article from October 2020 compared the minimum-security prison to a “camp” and called it “laid-back.”
The source added that FCI Pensacola inmates have access to a well-stocked library, gym, and track, as well as the opportunity to participate in various sports like racquetball, volleyball, and horseshoes. Also, they’ve done movie nights. According to the Buffalo News, the prison poses such a low risk that it isn’t even set up for solitary confinement.
Regarding Julie, FCI Marianna is a prison facility with 25 buildings and houses male and female inmates in seven housing units with approximately 1,2000 inmates, according to Business Insider. According to the source, a few of their entertainment offerings include intramural sports, art, aerobics, music, and other pastimes.
On the Chrisley Confessions podcast earlier this month, Julie talked about what it will be like to live apart from her husband for the first time and how watching Emmy Medders’ mother care for her father while he was diagnosed with ALS helped her put things in perspective.
With tears in her eyes, Julie said, alluding to her and Todd’s time in jail, “There is that possibility of my husband and I being separated, but there’s a difference between my husband and I being separated for some time and having to say goodbye forever.”
“So, the fact that I’m worried almost makes me feel guilty. She will have to bid her husband farewell because she won’t see him again. It puts everything in perspective, in my opinion. It certainly helps me put things in perspective. We all believe that our task is the most difficult.”
