In 2016, PBS put out their competitor to Netflix’s “The Crown” named “Victoria,” focusing around the life of a young Queen Victoria when she first succeeded to the throne of Britain in the 1830s, at only 18 years old. The series stars Jenna Coleman as the main character, an actress many may recognize from “Doctor Who” and the forthcoming Netflix true-crime thriller “The Serpent.”
Based closely on the historical Queen Victoria’s life, the show depicts Victoria’s early years as she takes control of rebellious statesmen, falls in love with Prince Albert, played by Tom Hughes, and becomes a mother. “Victoria” highlights the queen’s efforts to balance her domestic life with her job as a monarch, as things alter swiftly in a burgeoning Great Britain.
Victoria’s first eight-episode season began on August 28, 2016, and Season 2 will air in 2017. The third season premiered on January 13 in the United States and March 24 in the United Kingdom, a month later than the previous two. A fourth “Victoria” season has yet to be officially announced following the release of Season 3, but new information from star Jenna Coleman suggests that a fourth season is very certainly in the works.
Release Date Of Victoria Season 4
“Victoria” Season 4’s release date is difficult to forecast without a defined release schedule or even a pattern of previous season releases to use as a guide. Coleman talked on the future of in 2021 with The Mirror in January “We are in the process of discussing it and timescales at the moment,” Victoria stated.
Unfortunately, there’s just just too much story here. Even though I’m in my 60s, I could still play this role for many more years.” The future of the show looks bright, but the cast and crew of “Victoria” face a challenge.
Since Queen Victoria ruled the United Kingdom for the longest period of time (until Queen Elizabeth II broke her record in 2015), the show has plenty of material to draw from in the future. When it comes to “The Crown,” the show changes actors every two seasons as the characters age.
If Coleman is still interested in playing Victoria, it’s uncertain how much longer the show will go with her in the lead role. Only “Victoria” Season 4 seems to be interested in a fourth season, but it is difficult to tell when. If negotiations continue to progress, it is feasible that more episodes will be released in the new year.
Cast Of Victoria Season 4
In addition to Coleman and Hughes, “Victoria” has a large cast of well-known British performers. While Rufus Sewell, who will feature in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film, “Old,” portrays Lord Melbourne, Victoria’s longstanding mentor and best friend, Catherine Flemming portrays the queen’s mother, Duchess of Kent. Nell Hudson, Ferdinand Kingsley and Jordan Waller have all appeared in all three seasons of the show’s supporting cast. Peter Bowles plays the Duke of Wellington.
Season 4 of “Victoria” is set to feature several of the same characters who appeared in Season 3 but in new roles. There’s the Chartist movement’s Lord Palmerston (Laurence Fox), John Sessions’ Lord John Russell, and Ben Cartwright’s Feargus O’Connor. This season’s cast also includes Kate Fleetwood as Princess Feodora, Lily Travers as the Duchess of Monmouth, and Joseph Weld as the footman who Sophie had an affair with (David Burnett). Queen Victoria’s life will likely continue to be told through the stories of many of these figures, as well as the lives of a few new, yet influential, characters.

Plot Of Victoria Season 4
On the last episode of “Victoria,” Prince Albert collapses in front of Victoria, and the season closes on a cliffhanger. With Albert’s help, the Great Exhibition of 1851 marks the end of the season in 1851. “Victoria” had plenty of time to tell the narrative of the real Prince Albert, who died in 1861. Queen Victoria has two more children, Prince Leopold and Princess Beatrice, after the events of Season 3. The Crimean War begins in 1853 as a result of this.
“Victoria” Season 4 is expected to explore more personal aspects of the show, such as the debates between Victoria and Albert on the best way to raise their children. Victoria and her husband debate with Feodora about who should marry her daughter in Season 3’s finale.
When they have nine children of their own, Victoria and Albert will have to make a difficult decision of their own. This decision is made by Lord Palmerston and his wife since the politician is aiming to become Prime Minister.
However, there’s a chance that “Victoria” will go ahead in time a little bit, given how much happened in Queen Victoria’s lengthy life. As the circumstances around “Victoria” Season 4 solidify, we can expect more details regarding potential storylines to surface..
