Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy come face to face once more. This time around, the National Football Conference Championship Game will take place at the Linc on January 29, between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The quarterbacks will have a difficult time replicating their matchup from 2019, which took place during a Big 12 matchup between Oklahoma and Iowa State. The outcome of the game wasn’t decided until Purdy’s late pass for a two-point convert was picked off by Parnell Motley with just 24 seconds remaining in the contest.

Oklahoma won the game with a score of 42 to 41 for Iowa State.
Purdy threw for 282 yards and 5 touchdowns for the losing team, but it was not enough. Additionally, he ran for 55 yards and scored a touchdown. After starting his career at Alabama, Hurts spent just one season at Oklahoma before moving on to play for another school. In that season, he threw for 3 touchdowns and 273 yards. Additionally, he rushed for 68 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Before Purdy threw three touchdown passes, the Sooners held a 42-21 lead in the fourth quarter. In an effort to win the game in Norman, Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell decided to go for a two-point conversion, but his ball was intercepted.
