Michelle Yeoh has become an unstoppable force, much like her “Everything Everywhere All at Once” character. This is especially true as she makes her way through the 2023 awards season.
Yeoh’s most recent victory saw her become the first Asian woman to receive the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.
Yeoh received the award for her portrayal of Evelyn Wang in the 2022 movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
She remarked in her speech, “This is not only for me, this is for every little girl that looks like me.”
Yeoh continued by thanking the other performers for the honor and stating that they are all there because they are passionate about what they do. The raucous audience laughed and supported the star as she casually used several foul words during her address.

“I’m grateful that you allowed me to join you at the table; so many of us need this. We want to be heard as well as seen. And tonight you proved to us that it is possible, for which I am very appreciative,” she said. Yeoh stated her mother would be “eternally grateful” to see her receive the prize in one final special mention.
