65-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies In Collision
According to authorities, a 65-year-old Tavares man lost his life when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and an 88-year-old Fruitland Park woman’s automobile collided in Leesburg.
The deadly collision occurred on Saturday evening close to Tomato Hill Road and U.S. Highway 441.
According to Leesburg police, a preliminary investigation showed that the woman was driving a 2020 Honda Fit when it collided with a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was headed south on U.S. Highway 441 as it was leaving the RaceTrac gas station.
William Clough, a biker from Tavares, was sent to UF Health-Leesburg, where he subsequently passed away, according to the police.
Anyone who may have seen the crash is urged to call the Leesburg Police Department at 352-787-2121 as an investigation is still underway. For over three hours, traffic was rerouted around the scene of the collision.
