Apple Valley, California-based singer-songwriter Chayce Beckham won the 18th season of American Idol and became a household name.
When Windie Petersen gave birth to Beckham, he was raised in Victorville, Hesperia and Apple Valley, California. At the age of 12, he transferred to Glendora High School, which he attended until he graduated from Whitcomb High School in 2014, having previously attended Carmel Elementary in Hesperia, Vanguard Preparatory School in Apple Valley, and Sitting Bull Academy there.
A heavy machinery operator and reggae band named the Sinking Sailors founded while he was just 19 or 20 years old, respectively. Bob Dylan, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr. and Sr., and Jim Morrison and Bob Marley were among his musical inspirations, as were Jim Morrison and Bob Marley.
The two weeks before to his American Idol audition, he was in a near-fatal vehicle accident.
In Los Angeles, California, Beckham auditioned for the twelfth season of American Idol. Atop the American Idol leaderboard on May 23, 2021, Beckham was voted American Idol’s ninteenth season’s victorious champion after making it through Hollywood Week and reaching the Top 5.
He sang “23,” a song he’d written a year earlier, on American Idol, and it went to No. 1 on the iTunes list after he sang it. As a single, it was a big hit for him.
