Everyone, even those who aren’t into anime, have probably heard about Death Note. Are there any old-school anime fans out there who recall the Death Eraser? Light Yagami, a high school student, finds a “Death Note” and uses it to murder others. Writing down the victims’ names and the method of their death in a notebook is how Shinigami, or Gods of Death, perform assassinations.
When Light finds Ryuk’s Death Note, he is the shinigami who owns it in the anime. Light’s journey, including his usage of the Death Note and his escape from an astute detective named L, are all revealed to the audience as they follow his progress. For some reason, the Death Eraser was not included in the manga or anime adaptations of Death Note.
Eraser of Asphyxiation
The Taro Kagami Story by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata was a one-shot Death Note manga pilot published before the widely read current manga. Before Light’s story arc begins, this story takes place. Until he finds Ryuk’s Death Note and starts using it as a journal.
Thirteen-year-old Taro Kagami has no idea what the book is by writing about the bullies who tormented him in school, he unintentionally caused their deaths. Soon after, Ryuk gives Taro a device called the Death Eraser, allowing him to erase all of the names of those who died in the Death Note. Cremation does not function in this case.
Death Note author Ohba found the Death Eraser to be a useless instrument. The lack of inclusion in the anime and main manga could be attributed to a lack of interest. In these Death Note versions, the owner will die if they do not scratch out the victim’s name with two lines before the forty-second timer expires. The Death Eraser appeared unnecessary in light of the fact that victims could be saved.

The sequence of events in which it appears
If the Death Notes appeared in the Death Note anime, the spectator would be robbed of the cat-and-mouse chase between Light and L. When L and Light are on stage together, it’s a thrilling experience to see two people who are equally adept at wit and witticisms.
The Death Eraser has made this race between the two characters less fascinating to watch. Every action she does is meticulously planned and meticulously executed by Light. Light no longer has to develop elaborate ruses to evade capture thanks to the Death Eraser. The Death Eraser can annihilate anything he comes across with a single, quick strike.
As long as there is a Death Eraser in the room, death is not yet over. There are no repercussions whatsoever. Shinigami Eyes are meaningless because resurrection is so easy. It would be less interesting if the show’s rules and standards were removed, which is what first drew viewers in.
While the Death Note is non-consequential and reversible, observing L’s reaction to a previously slain criminal’s resurrection may be intriguing. What would happen if he couldn’t figure out how to utilize the Death Eraser? I think L would be intrigued by a story about him trying to figure out how the dead are brought back to life even if he didn’t believe in supernatural shinigami.

There’s a Death Note connection here
The Death Note manga series, stylized as “Death Note,” is written and illustrated by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. Death Note, the notebook belonging to the Shinigami Ryuk, gives its holder the ability to kill anyone whose name is recorded in its pages, granting them extraordinary powers.
The notebook is found by Light Yagami, a bright young man. An elite Japanese police task unit led by a mysterious investigator L is on the hunt for Light, who plans on using the Death Note to carry out an all-out global genocide of people he perceives to be immoral and to create an entirely crime-free society. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine published Death Note from December 2003 to May 2006. All 108 chapters were included in the 12 tanks volumes that were produced.
In Japan, Nippon Television broadcast a 37-episode anime television series adaptation by Madhouse and Tetsuro Araki from October 2006 to June 2007.
The story was adapted by Nisio Isin and published after the show finished in 2006. For the Nintendo DS, Konami has released a slew of titles as well. Summer 2006, autumn 2006, and early 2008 saw the debut of three live-action films based on the series; a television drama was aired in the year 2015.
Death Note: The Final Chapter and Death Note: New Generation were released in 2016. As recently as August 2017, Netflix aired an American cinematic adaptation of the book.

Final Thoughts
Viz Material is the only North American licensee and distributor of Death Note media, with the exception of video games and soundtracks. Until Viz Media secured the right to publish the anime in North America, IGN had the option to download it.
To watch the series in Canada, you had to watch it on YTV’s Bionix anime block and in the US, Adult Swim. Some North American theatres showed live-action films prior to their release on DVD in 2008.
As of April 2015, Death Note manga had sold more than 30 million copies.
