The King of Queens followed the lives of married couple Doug known as Kevin James and Carrie Heffernan known as Leah Remini on the hit NBC sitcom. When Carrie’s father Arthur (Jerry Stiller) comes in, he disrupts Doug and Carrie’s peaceful existence.
The introduction of Arthur causes chaos and amusing friction between Doug and the rest of the group. Over the next nine years, Doug and Carrie’s relationship will be strained as Arthur willfully disrupts their otherwise happy existence together.
The King of Queens, which aired on Fox for nine seasons between 1998 and 2007, isn’t your typical sitcom because of all its peculiarities. Doug and Carrie are easily written off as stereotypical comedy characters—he as the slacker spouse, she as the nag—but in reality, they have depth and complexity, as do the other characters in the show.
Meanwhile, there are other elements in The King of Queens that just don’t make sense, such as a storyline that was dropped or a history that seems to contradict itself. The King of Queens has some amusing easter eggs concealed in its story gaps and character subtleties.
