Main Characters Of ‘High School Of The Dead’
While there are many characters in this popular anime, we’ll be focusing on the main ones and their roles in season one. The following is a brief summary of each of the protagonists.
Takashi Komuro, the protagonist of the series, is a 17-year-old high school student at Fujimi High School. The two childhood friends, Takashi and Rei, made a promise to each other that they would get married one day. However, as a result of their hasty and immature decision, Rei eventually begins dating Hisashi. At the beginning of the series, he hurried to rescue Rei, who was helping the teachers, when he noticed that the zombies were attacking them. In the ensuing battle, Takashi kills Hishashi by turning him into a zombie. Because of this, Rei comes to assume that Takashi was the one to murder him. Rei holds Takashi back and apologises as he prepares to leave after the incident. The two of them hug as they say their goodbyes.
Reddish-brown eyes and orange-brown hair describe Rei Miyamoto. Prior to the start of the series, she told Takashi that she would marry him, but she subsequently starts dating Hishashi instead. Takashi kills Hishahi because the latter has turned into a zombie, and Hishahi is furious and accuses him of being the reason of all that has happened afterwards. Takashi is about to go since he feels horrible about everything, but Rei stops him, and they make up. Rei explains to Takashi in the chapter 12 that girls are attracted to guys who are cute and show concern for their relationships. He tells her he’s neither of the two, but Rei tells him that’s exactly why she likes and doesn’t want him to be anybody else, and he responds, “I know.” Also, she dislikes Mr. Shido, because he held her back in school for a year and exacerbated her father’s relationship with her mother.
Saeko Busujima, a third-year student with dark violet hair and sparkling blue eyes, is well-known around campus. As the head of the school’s Kendo club, she always carries her wooden sword around. Showcasing her compassion, Saeko is revealed to murder an afflicted student in the series. When Takashi asks Saeko if she has ever been sexually attacked, she tells him that she has, but that she was able to fight back using her wooden sword before the police arrived. Until Takashi teaches her how to overcome her fears of being aggressive, she is on the verge of giving up on the zombies.
