Horse Girl Storyline-

Sarah is a quiet young woman who works at a craft store and is shy and introverted. For fun, she visits the cemetery of her mother, who committed herself the year prior. Her mother’s grave Sarah also frequently visits the stable where Willow, the horse she used to ride as a youngster, is being cared for; the owners are clearly irritated by Sarah’s visits.

It’s her birthday today, and she wants to ask her Zumba class teacher on a date, but she can’t quite get her message over. As a result of her roommate Nikki finding Sarah alone at home on her birthday, Sarah and Brian’s roommate Darren get to go out on a double date. Sarah’s nose bleed interrupts her eager listening as Darren shares personal facts about himself and his prior relationships with the four of them while they smoke pot and drink.

Later, Sarah has a peculiar dream in which she is unconsciously surrounded by two other people who are also sleeping on the floor, ignorant of their surroundings. This is after he has left.

Nikki awoke the next morning to discover Sarah sleeping on the floor of the living room, and massive scratch marks on the walls. To get his car back, Darren goes to the apartment and asks Sarah out on a date.

During her recovery time from a second nose bleed, Sarah notices a man strolling outside who looks much like the one from her dream. A few days after that, Sarah spends an afternoon with Heather, her childhood friend who was in an accident that left her with a brain damage and short-term memory loss.

Sarah quickly finds herself the victim of a strange string of events: Sarah is driving home as she comes to a stop at a red light near a water treatment station. In her kitchen, the tap is running and she is unable to figure out how long it has been since she left. In the meanwhile, she hears a lady chatting indistinctly in another room while Nikki is away, and the next morning, her car is missing from her apartment’s garage. Gary,

Sarah’s affluent stepfather, tells her that the automobile has been taken to a tow yard because the registration is still his. The tow truck driver tells them the automobile was found abandoned near a water facility in the middle of the road when he brings Sarah to get it. When Sarah wakes up on the pavement, she has lost time and appears to have sleepwalked out of her apartment. Given Sarah’s family history of mental health issues, her supervisor, Joan, advises her to see a doctor.

An episode of Purgatory, a popular fantasy television show which Sarah watches frequently, causes her to believe that she’s being abducted by aliens and that she may be one of their cloned victims. For some reason, Sarah thinks she may be the clone of her deceased grandma. Ron, the man she saw in her dream, operates a plumbing company, so she follows him there.

Sarah confides her opinion that she is a clone while on a date with Darren and has him drive her to her mother’s grave to get her DNA. Sarah accuses Darren of scheming against her and threatens him with scissors, causing him to leave her there when he becomes disturbed.

Sarah was committed to a psychiatric institution after she stripped naked at work while imagining she was in the shower. Sarah identifies another patient as the lady from her dream, and when she recounts it, the woman discloses that they had similar features in their dreams, such as an alien ramp in the midst of the ocean, when she describes it.

Sarah sees this as further proof that she and her friend have been kidnapped by extraterrestrials, and she informs her social worker about it with glee. In spite of his doubts, Sarah is released from the hospital after 72 hours, even though it felt like only one night had gone. Sarah grabs Willow from the stable and takes her for a trip in the woods while dressed as her grandma. Sarah comes to a halt and lies down in a clearing. Spaceships begin to emerge and depart in the distance.
