What Was Lance Kerwin’s Cause of Death?
Lance Kerwin Cause of Death: Savannah, Lance’s daughter, wrote on Facebook on January 25 that her father had passed away. “I am very sorry to those we have not been able to reach out to personally to notify, but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning,” she said. “We are grateful for the outpouring of support, and we thank you for your prayers and memories. Every one of you held a special place in his heart.”
Lance has been dealing with several health problems, but the exact reason for his death remains unknown.
In June 2021, a buddy of Lance’s set up a GoFundMe to assist him in getting back on his feet after a back injury and other unspecified difficulties. Lance responded with a touching update on the GoFundMe page, expressing his gratitude for everyone’s support.

Lance Kerwin Had a Prolific Acting Career
Although he is most known to horror fans for his performance in Salem’s Lot, Lance had several important roles during his career, including the title character of James in the NBC drama series James at 15. (later changed to James at 16). The show received praise for its delicate manner in addressing the topic of coming of age, even though it was canceled after just one season.
According to Tom Shales of The Washington Post, the program “was still the most respectable new entertainment series of the season,” even though it “was not faultless, not original, and not often deliriously urgent.” After establishing himself as a mainstay of the entertainment industry in the 1970s and continuing his acting career into the 1990s, Lance would eventually depart Hollywood in pursuit of a more important goal.
According to Deadline, he “retired from acting to become a youth minister” and relocated to Hawaii, where he worked with the U-Turn for Christ ministry. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 epidemic nearly wiped out the secular work that he was doing, so he returned to California, which was also the location of his death.
