Selena Gomez Says She’s ‘Grateful To Be Alive
On Monday morning, Apple TV+ released the first official trailer for the Selena Gomez documentary, My Mind & Me (Oct. 10). The pop artist narrates a montage of clips of herself while saying, “Just be who you are, Selena.” The actions you take will not be noticed. To put it simply, it has to do with my identity. acceptance of my current situation I count it a blessing to be here.
The trailer briefly discusses the pop star’s lupus, depression, and anxiety diagnoses as well as the sensationalised headline claiming she had a “mental breakdown,” after which she promises, “Let me make a promise: I am going to stop living like this.” How do I retrain my lungs to take in oxygen on their own?
Later, Gomez breaks down in tears and reveals her anxiety that she is “not good enough” and doesn’t want to be “very famous.” But after visiting an old acquaintance and participating in a humanitarian trip to Africa, she realised, “What makes me happy is a connection, and that helps me get out of my head.” Evidently, I’m still there to lend a hand to those that need it.
In addition, the trailer provides Selenators with a first listen to an unreleased song by the “Boyfriend” singer, on which she sings, “My mind and me/ We don’t get along sometimes/ Gets hard to breathe/ But I wouldn’t change my life/ If somebody sees me like this/ Then they won’t feel alone now/ My mind and me.” The documentary has been in the works for a very long period, and during that time, cameras have been following the star about.
‘Happier than I’ve ever been’
In the promotional video, she can be heard saying, “I’ve never been happier, and I have more control over both my emotions and my thoughts than I do right now.” On November 4, the movie will have its world premiere on Apple TV+. Gomez has already discussed some of the steps she has taken to improve her mental health, including limiting her time spent online as one of those steps. In April, she stated that she has not used the internet for the past four and a half years and that this has “transformed her life.”
