American journalist and 60 Minutes reporter Sharyn Alfonsi. In her first television interview, Sharyn appeared on 60 Minutes on March 1, 2015. She was honored with the 2019 DuPont-Columbia Journalism Prize. She started out with KHBS-KHOG-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1995 before moving on to WVEC-TV in Norfolk, KIRO-TV in Seattle, and WBZ-TV in Boston.

In 2020, she became famous across the world because she was the first journalist to receive images from inside the prison cell of convicted criminal Jeffrey Epstein, including photos from his autopsy.

Journalism as a Profession for Sharyn Alfonsi
She started her career in the media industry as a news reporter, weekend weather anchor, editor, and photographer for KHBS-TV. Then, from 1995 to 1997, she was a general assignment reporter for Virginia’s WVEC-TV. She went on to work as a reporter and fill-in anchor for Washington’s KIRO-TV.
While working at KIRO-TV, she reported on the protests outside the World Trade Organization. The well-known reporter also began anchoring CBS News’ nightly programs from New York. As if that weren’t enough, she also hosted GMA and World News.

Sharyn got her start in the media industry at KHBS-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she worked as a news reporter, weekend weather anchor, photographer, and editor. She worked as a general assignment reporter for ABC station WVEC from 1997 to 1999 after she left KHBS. In 1999, she became a reporter for KIRO-TV, where she stayed until 2001.
