Locke and Key, a Netflix original horror thriller, has a knack of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with its funny and wildly emotional episodes. The third season of the streaming mega hit follows the exploits of Kinsey (Emilia Jones), Tyler (Connor Jessup), and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott). The bad news could be just around the corner if you are a fan of the series. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t want to ruin your day just yet. Sadly, after Season 3 of Locke & Key on Netflix, the series has come to an end. The final collection of episodes, shorter than the previous two seasons, concludes the tale of the Locke family and Keyhouse. Obviously, the stakes are raised by putting the Lockes in a dangerous situation with a new antagonist and bringing back Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira).
In April, Deadline announced that Locke & Key would terminate after its third season. Locke & Key Season 4 not happening may frustrate some viewers who have grown accustomed to series like Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy having longer seasons. However, there is some good news to take away from this farewell to the series: it seems to have concluded precisely how the creators of the show envisioned it.
The reason why there will not be a fourth season of “Locke & Key”
If season 3 is the last one, then why is Locke & Key ending? It would appear that the producers of Locke & Key took the artistic decision not to order a fourth season of the show.
“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion. As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted.”
After being asked by Deadline how many seasons they planned on making, creators Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement: So, even if fans are hoping for additional content in this world, especially after the somewhat confusing ending of the third chapter, they may rest assured that everything that has happened so far was intended. There’s no indication that this is due to dwindling popularity or disinterest on Netflix’s part. And that’s a victory, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the moment.

The Netflix comedy may not be returning for a fourth season, but it ended on a high note
Netflix has been known to cancel its share of original programmes, and 2022 has already seen a number of shocking cancellations on television. That’s why it’s so great that Locke & Key achieved a satisfying conclusion. Fans may wish for additional Lockes adventures, but there is merit in the show’s producers sticking to their guns.
Then again, who can say? Even if we never see Season 4 of Locke & Key, maybe we’ll get a spinoff. Meanwhile, it appears that this episode marks the conclusion of the Netflix show. We regret having to be the ones to tell you this, but season four will not be happening. And I’m calling it now. Locke and Key has completed its third and final season. We know it is fixed in stone because of the official streamer’s unyielding cancellation policy and its history of three-season runs. Finally, they expressed their appreciation for being given the freedom to tell their version of the “amazing narrative” of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
Despite this, the comix novels contain material beyond the three seasons covered in the television adaptation. There are six distinct storylines in the Joe Hill/Gabriel Rodriguez series, which ran for five years and a total of 37 issues. These tales must be satisfied by their written form.
