Isekai Quartet Season 3

One defining feature when it comes to the world of modern anime is the prevalence of the isekai genre. When normal people from our world are transported to a fantasy realm, there are many potentially interesting stories just ripe for the picking.

Shows like “Re:Zero,” “KonoSuba,” and “Overlord” are all based on the fantasy of traveling to another world, yet all of them bring something unique that sets them apart from the legions of other isekai that surround them.

However, these shows have only scratched the surface of their true potential.

As the makers of these anime (plus “The Saga of Tanya the Evil”) discovered in 2019, you can get exponentially more value out of these franchises if you simply combine all of them into one ensemble cast. It is the same concept that peanut butter and jelly have been proving for decades.

The power of crossovers should never be underestimated. Thus, “Isekai Quartet” was born, a crossover series featuring cutesy little chibi versions of anime’s most popular isekai characters.

Both the first and second seasons of this spinoff series resulted in resounding success, so much so that the series is receiving its own movie, “Isekai Quartet: Another World.” On top of that, Season 3 is well on its way.

Although not much is known about the third season, there is still plenty of room for viable speculation. With that in mind, here is what we know so far about “Isekai Quartet” Season 3.

Isekai Quartet Season 3 Release Date

Unfortunately, the animation studio behind “Isekai Quartet,” Studio Puyukai, has not revealed when Season 3 of the series will be released. However, this is likely to reserve fan hype for the upcoming “Isekai Quartet” movie, which is set to release sometime in 2022.

In all likelihood, fans will learn more about Season 3 leading up to, and possibly after, the movie’s release. This means that Season 3 could come out as early as late 2022, or sometime in 2023.

Thankfully, the show’s staff did confirm a third season during the final episode of Season 2 (via Funimation). Likewise, the aforementioned estimated release schedule is supported by the series’ past releases, which included a roughly year-long gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

Assuming the “Isekai Quartet” film is treated as another season, that allows for one entry in the series per year. Of course, things could always happen to disrupt that delicate process. However, it is a safe assumption to make until Studio Puyukai says otherwise.

Isekai Quartet Season 3 Characters

As the title suggests, the first season of “Isekai Quartet” included the lead actors from four separate isekai series. There’s “KonoSuba,” “Overlord,” “The Saga of Tanya the Evil,” and “Re:Zero,” featuring Kazuma, Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin as well as the other three major characters. “Overlord” also has Ainz Ooal Gown and her Imperial Army friends, Albedo and Shalltear (Subaru, Emilia, Ram, and Rem). Several characters from each series appear in certain episodes.

Even with such a large cast, there is still opportunity for growth in this series. There are now five main characters in “Isekai Quartet’s” second season, including protagonist Naofumi and his raccoon-lady sidekick Raphtalia from the previous series “The Rising of the Shield Hero”. Cameo appearances are also made by characters from the television series “Cautious Hero.”.

These past additions show that Isekai Quartet Season 3 has the possibility to include even more prominent characters from the isekai world. A large number of fans hope that characters from popular series such as “Jobless Reincarnation” or “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” would be included to the cast of the programme.

Isekai Quartet Season 3 Storyline

“Isekai Quartet” is a fun spinoff series that doesn’t always follow a single narrative path. The programme opens with each of the characters discovering a strange button that, when touched, transports them to a whole different universe. Most of their exploits this time take place at a high school.

Due of these popular high school anime cliches, numerous episodes revolve.

During the second season, the isekai heroes are preparing for their new school’s annual celebration, exchanging Valentine’s Day cards, and stealing wine from their principal’s office. When the teams reunite in Season 3, anticipate the same pranks to take place. No matter what happens, the “Isekai Quartet” gang’s adventures will remain as joyful and entertaining as ever, a far cry from the dark tragedies of their former realms.

End Lines

As of December 11, 2021, there is no stated release date for the third season of the series. For now, we can only conjecture. Two seasons of the show were released in the early months of spring, as can be seen in the gallery below. We believe that production on the third season of the series began well before the end of the second season.

The movie announcement, on the other hand, means that the release date of the next season of anime will be delayed. The anime movie is scheduled for release in 2022, but no specific date has been confirmed for the next season.

After the movie, the third season will most likely broadcast. Expected to be constructed by Studio Puyukai like in the past seasons of the series.

On July 7, 2021, a new film project will be launched to go along with the third season of the anime. As seen in the upcoming 2022 release film. First and second season cast members of the anime return. There has also been a release of the anime’s first teaser. Isekai Quartet: The Movie -Another World- is a film about the quartet.
