Chris and Lindsey Awtrey (now Lindsey Miller) welcomed him on August 19, 1998, and he spent his childhood living in Siler City and Archdale.
Hunter was a gifted athlete who enjoyed participating in youth leagues and playing football, basketball, and baseball. In addition to studying business and finance as a senior at UNC-Charlotte when he passed away, he graduated from Trinity High School in 2016 and the university intends to grant him a posthumous degree.
