Jake Roberts’s Beginnings

Roberts began his career in wrestling and refereeing in 1974. He competed in several promotions, including Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling, and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Roberts struggled with character development, so in the late 1970s, he went to wrestle in Canada. Roberts engaged in conflict with the Junkyard Dog while competing in Stampede Wrestling.

Roberts joined Paul Ellering’s company, the Legion of Doom, in Georgia Championship Wrestling in 1983, when he first engaged in a conflict with Ron Garvin for the NWA World Television Title. After snaring Wells’ head with his snake and winning the battle, Jake showed off his might by forcing froth out his mouth.

Since Jake hosted the program “The Snake Pit” in addition to wrestling for the WWF for two years, he made a significant impact. His fame was rising swiftly, which led to new fights, new victories, and increased earnings for his net worth. He joined World Championship Wrestling in 1992 after leaving the WWF, but that didn’t last long.

Nevertheless, it was only for a brief period, as the following year he was dismissed and joined Extreme Championship Wrestling a few months later. But even that didn’t last long because in 1999 he quit the ECW to compete in the Heroes of Wrestling pay-per-view. However, his drug and alcohol abuse took over, and he lost the fight as soon as it began.

Jake Roberts’s Personal Life

Jake has had some intriguing experiences in his personal life. He has eight children total, four of whom were born to his second wife Cheryl Hagood, with whom he has been married three times. From 1984 through 2000, they were married. The date of the dissolution of his 1975 marriage to Karen Rauschuber, his first wife, is unknown.

From 2006 through 2011, he was married to Judy Lynn, his third wife. Jake has experienced several health issues, including drug and alcohol addiction, muscle cancer, obesity, and double pneumonia, all of which he seems to have overcome.
