However, recent occurrences in Mackenzie Dern’s life have further inspired her. At today’s UFC Vegas 73 media day, the Brazilian opened up about those contemporary personal issues. There, Dern revealed her troubled divorce, training, and coaching difficulties.
Despite these defeats, the women’s strawweight challenger is more determined than ever to win on Saturday. After everything that transpired, Dern cannot wait to return to the octagon and bring a decisive victory.
“I’ve been working all camp. It’s been so crazy; my divorce has been crazy,” Mackenzie Dern stated at UFC Vegas 73 media day. “Like, everything. My coach [Jason] Parillo was out of town with Luke [Rockhold] for his bare-knuckle fight for a month. This camp was a tactic of having this vision of fighting I’ve never had before.”

She added, “… I’m bringing a lot of hostility to this fight from my personal life and everything else. So, I do not have anything against Angela personally, but I respect her. But I must have it; I can’t put it off any longer.
