Respect was what Beyoncé wanted to be written on her bill, and she got it in spades out here in California. TMZ claims that the celebrity couple, comprised of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, now possess the priciest mansion in California.

The hitmaking duo behind “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” dropped a stunning $200 million on a 30,000-square-foot mansion in Malibu’s posh Paradise Cove neighborhood. Billionaires’ Row is an apt name for this area.

According to TMZ, the mansion is only second to a $238 million New York City apartment as the most expensive real estate deal in the United States. According to the entertainment website, the mansion was originally advertised for $295 million, so the couple got a great deal.

Jay (actual name Shawn Carter) and Beyoncé, who is worth an estimated $100 million, bought a Bel-Air mansion in 2017 for $88 million.

It has been believed that the Japanese master architect Tadao Ando, who is also creating Kanye West’s new Malibu home, is responsible for designing the Carters’ new California mansion. In contrast to Ye’s location along the highway and in close proximity to other homes, theirs is on eight acres and has stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

Soap opera producer and reputedly the world’s largest art collector William Bell supposedly owned and built the home. The residence was apparently sold in a private transaction. The real estate agent has not responded to KTLA’s messages.
