What was Keith Jefferson Cause Of Death, Exactly?
On October 5, 2023, word came that Keith Jefferson passed away following a fight with cancer. Longtime collaborator and friend Jamie Foxx announced Jefferson’s death on Instagram, calling him a “incredible soul.” According to Foxx, they both studied at US International University.
In August, he wrote a lengthy Instagram post in which he revealed the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
“He Said: Every now and then God will give you a challenge and leave it up to you to fix it. When I was first diagnosed with cancer I had to stop, pause , and didn’t want to share with anyone. Not my family nor extended family. Today I’m finally at a place to share because my faith is getting stronger.”
“I have a loving family and the best friends in the entire world. You know who you are. From my Mom to J Foxx and everybody in between. I love you whole heartedly. We are cut from the same cloth and that cloth is the human condition. Remember…”faith is the last thing you can lose.” I’m not about to lose that 🙏🏾 💪🏾 👊🏾❤️”

“I have a loving family and the best friends in the entire world. You know who you are. From my mom to J Foxx and everybody in between. I love you wholeheartedly.”

Keith Jefferson Career
Keith Jefferson’s career started out when he was hired as Private Andrew Boyer in the Emmy-nominated film “Buffalo Soldiers,” starring opposite the legendary Danny Glover. Keith’s baritone is essential to the plot, and the film’s soundtrack features him performing two operatic arias.
But working with Jamie Foxx on Django Unchained helped boost Jefferson’s profile. Director Quentin Tarantino cast him as “Pudgy Ralph,” a released chain gang member armed with a shotgun, in the Oscar-winning picture “Django Unchained.”
With “The Hateful Eight,” Jefferson’s latest film, he returns to the Tarantino fold for the second time, this time playing Charly. Filmed in the chilly town of Telluride, Colorado, the 70mm (and digital) feature featured an ensemble cast that included Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, and Keith.
