Former NFL Star Vontae Davis Dies At 35
On April 1, the local police verified that the 35-year-old had been discovered dead in a Florida home.
A statement from the medical examiner states that “the Broward County Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services is investigating the death of 35-year-old Vontae Davis of Southwest Ranches, Florida.”
The announcement said that the investigation’s conclusion and finding the manner and reason for his death could take up to ninety days.
According to Davie Police officers, a house help in Florida called the authorities on the morning of April 1 and reported that she had discovered the homeowner deceased. Davis was identified as the dead person by the police in their statement.
Although they mentioned in the statement that preliminary information indicated foul play was not involved, police did not release any other specifics regarding the death of the former Miami Dolphins player. According to the statement, the inquiry is still ongoing.
The Dolphins honored the former cornerback on X with a black-and-white picture. “We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of former Dolphins CB Vontae Davis and extend our deepest condolences to his family & loved ones during this difficult time,” the team said in a statement.
The six-season home of Davis, the Indianapolis Colts, announced on X that they are “devastated” to learn of the player’s passing.
The Colts said, “He was a standout player in his six seasons with the Horseshoe, but he was an even better teammate who carried a smile and positive energy every day. He will be deeply missed, and we send out prayers to his family and loved ones.”
