A Florida man was charged with threatening to kill the President.
27-year-old Ryan Brown, of Crescent City in Putnam County, Florida, was charged by indictment with two counts of threatening to kill the President of the United States.
According to the Department of Justice, if convicted of both counts, Brown faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
According to the indictment, on April 16, 2026, Ryan Brown transmitted an online message to “whitehouse.gov,” directed to Republican President Donald Trump, in which he threatened to blow up the White House in one week’s time. Subsequently, on May 25, 2026, Brown sent another message to “whitehouse.gov” stating, in part, that he would kill the President in cold blood.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
This Florida case was investigated by the United States Secret Service. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kelli Swaney. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.
