FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — An Amazon delivery driver who was found unresponsive inside a delivery vehicle Monday evening near Fruitland Park has died, but investigators say the cause of death remains unclear.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the area of Clark Road in unincorporated Fruitland Park after receiving a report of an Amazon delivery vehicle running while stationary for an extended period of time, Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephanie Earley told Inside Lake.
When deputies arrived, they found the female driver unresponsive inside the vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased, Earley said.
Lake County Fire Rescue Special Operations also responded to the scene. The driver’s name has not been released.
The cause of death remains unclear, and detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau continue to investigate the incident, Earley said.
