Florida Republicans dominated the Democrats in voter turnout for the August primary election, and the GOP said it was united and ready to win in November.
The Florida GOP said it delivered a commanding show of strength in the primary election, dominating voter turnout across the state and sending a clear message heading into November: Florida Republicans are energized, organized, and united behind the nominees.
The Republican Party noted that from the Panhandle to South Florida, Republicans turned out in force and GOP voters outpaced Democrats by 437,723 votes statewide, with a R+ 12.94%, overperforming the voter registration advantage. The Florida GOP provided these totals:
- Republican ballots cast: 1,718,335
- Democrat ballots cast: 1,280,612
- Counties where Republicans outvoted Democrats: 58 of 67
- Republican advantage in Early Voting: +143,025 (REP: 448,542, DEM: 305,517)
- Republican advantage in Election Day voting: 391,663
The Republican Party of Florida said the results underscore the strength and reach of Republicans, who did not just run up the score in traditionally conservative strongholds.
But that is not deterring Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon who said she is ready to take on Republican Senator Ashley Moody after her big progressive win in her primary.
The Florida GOP said now that the primary is over, Republicans who competed against one another will come together as one team, united behind the nominees and focused on defeating Democrats in November.
“Florida Republicans dominated this primary, and the message could not be clearer: Our voters are energized, our grassroots are strong, and the Florida GOP is ready to win,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “We had spirited Republican primaries across Florida, but tonight we turn the page. We are one team with one mission: Elect Byron Donalds as Governor, re-elect Senator Moody, Attorney General Uthmeier, CFO Ingoglia and Commissioner Simpson, and elect Republicans up and down the ballot.”
The Florida GOP said it will take the energy, organization, and grassroots strength demonstrated in this primary and carry it into November to elect Republicans from the top of the ticket to the bottom, expand majorities, and deliver another victory for conservative leadership in Florida.
