The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Public Corruption Section arrested the 11 individuals following an investigation into a fraudulent scheme involving the improper issuance of disabled parking permits.

The South Florida investigation uncovered brokers who allegedly provided applicants with disability certification forms containing forged physician signatures to fraudulently obtain disabled parking placards.

According to local law enforcement, Operation Parking Denied sends a clear message: exploiting programs intended to assist individuals with legitimate disabilities will not be tolerated.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
