A repeat fleeing suspect was arrested in Central Florida after years of evasion.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested the wanted suspect who spent years evading law enforcement while endangering the public and deputies.
Members of the Auto Theft Unit located and arrested 35-year-old Everaldo Alvarez Borqueno, who was wanted on warrants from multiple jurisdictions including the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Corrections.
According to local law enforcement, Alvarez Borqueno has a documented history of avoiding arrest. During previous encounters with law enforcement, he fled at high rates of speed through public roadways, rammed patrol vehicles, and demonstrated a complete disregard for the safety of deputies and members of the community. Detectives also learned that Alvarez Borqueno had previously fled from deputies with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office during an attempted apprehension.
This arrest concluded multiple investigations and years of efforts by law enforcement agencies to bring Alvarez Borqueno into custody.
“Time and again, this suspect chose to put the public at risk rather than face the consequences of his actions,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Those who believe they can evade justice by running only delay the inevitable. We will find you. Whether it takes days, months, or years, we will continue to pursue those who threaten the safety of our community and bring them to justice.”
According to law enforcement, Everaldo Alvarez Borqueno faced an extensive list of felony charges spanning several years, including burglary, grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, criminal mischief, vehicle theft-related offenses, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and multiple violations of probation.
