Anita Pointer, one of The Pointer Sisters, passed away at 74, it has been reported.
According to her publicist, the Grammy Award-winning singer was accompanied by relatives. On Saturday, she passed away at her Beverly Hills, California, home (31 December).
Anita, Bonnie Pointer, and June Pointer founded the Pointer Sisters in 1969, and their older sister Ruth joined in 1972. The first three members are now all deceased.
Anita left the band in 2015, but not before earning three Grammys, including one for Jump (For My Love). The Pointer Sisters had a handful of top 10 singles in the US.
