On the evening of August 25, 2023, Casey Jordan Troyer, 37, of Granger, Indiana, died away. His birthdate is August 18, 1986, the day he was born in Goshen. Those left behind include his wife Ashley, son Augustine “Gus” Troyer, stepdaughters Madison and Bella Filley, mother Dilynn (Greg) Puckett of Middlebury, brother Trevor Troyer of Elkhart, stepsisters Andrea Puckett of Brooklyn, NY, and Amber (Jason) Miller of Middlebury, and five nieces and nephews.
His Union, Michigan-born dad’s name is Steven C. Troyer. Remembering Casey, people will say that he was a guy who liked to speak and had a lot of brains. He earned his undergraduate degree from Butler University and his juris doctorate from Indiana University Bloomington’s Mauer Law School.
He was a successful RV salesperson for Forest River RV, a firm that was a good fit for him because of his demeanor on the job. He was a huge golf fan and also enjoyed basketball and volleyball. He was an expert on the guitar. He valued his interactions with his two beloved dogs, Claude and Julie.
The fond memories of his friends and family of the days he spent with his nieces and nephews at the lake will last forever. He felt incredibly close to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury, will be open for visitation on Tuesday, August 29, from noon to 3 p.m.
Visitation will end at 3 p.m., and funeral services will begin shortly after. Pastor Joe Miller will be in charge of the services. Donations in memory of Ryan will be accepted at Ryan’s Place, and interment will occur in Goshen’s Miller 8 Square Cemetery.
