According to a family statement, Ms. McVie passed away at a hospital following a brief illness. Ms. McVie told Rolling Stone in June that she was in “pretty terrible condition” and had ongoing back problems.

She was still able to sit down for a Rolling Stone interview early this year before she passed away. When she was still a member of Fleetwood Mac, McVie claimed that she had no idea that she was the calm in the band’s chaos.
She also praised the friendships and character traits of her bandmates. McVie joined the group on its reunion tour before departing in 1998. Thankfully, she came back in 2014 and played with them till 2019.
