The representative continued, “Irene’s family has requested privacy while they mourn their bereavement. “She was a stunningly talented person whose pictures and songs will live on forever.
Funeral arrangements are being made, and a memorial event for her supporters will be organised later. Cara not only performed the title song for 1980’s Fame, but she also played Coco Hernandez in the movie.
Cara won the 1983 Oscar for Best Original Song for “Flashdance… What a Feeling,” which she co-wrote with Giorgio Moroder and Keith Forsey for the film Flashdance.
Her representative bemoaned on Twitter early on Saturday before publishing the aforementioned statement, “This is the absolute hardest part of being a PR.”
“I can’t believe I have to even write this and announce the news. Describe your feelings and memories regarding Irene. I know she’ll be grinning from Heaven as I read each and every one of them. She loved her followers.
