The Polk County Sheriff’s Office terminated the health care services agreement with the jail provider.
YesCare, the medical services provider for the Polk County Jail for 33 years, recently had filed for bankruptcy, representing a breach of the contract with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
PCSO said the executive staff determined that YesCare was no longer in a financial position to provide dependable medical services at Polk County jail facilities.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office notified YesCare that pursuant to their breach of the health care services agreement, the contract was being terminated.
The Sheriff’s Office contracted with correctional healthcare provider CFG Health Systems to seamlessly provide medical services which began with the announcement of the termination. As a part of the contract, PCSO said CFG Health ensured that the current health care employees who have faithfully and professionally served would be retained and continue their dedicated work at the Polk County jail.
“Throughout this transition, our healthcare professionals have demonstrated their ethical and moral commitment to providing quality care to Polk County jail inmates,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “I am thankful for their steadfast professionalism.”
