We have to break the news to you all with a heavy heart that Sara Lee has passed away. Lee was a professional wrestler in addition to winning the reality show Tough Enough, which was produced by WWE. She was just 30 years old at the time.
We do not yet know what caused Lee’s death, however, we do know that she had been battling a sinus infection in the weeks leading up to her passing. We will update this information as soon as her family responds to our inquiries. However, it appeared as though she was making progress, as she had even posted images of herself working out in the recent past.
On social media, Lee’s mother shared the sad news that her daughter had passed away, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we wanted to convey that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.” Sara Weston was Lee’s daughter. We have all been taken aback, and the preparations are not yet finished. We kindly ask that you respect our family’s privacy during this difficult time.

Although Lee’s time in the WWE was brief, she managed to leave her mark on the company. Following her victory in Tough Enough in 2015, she was offered and accepted a contract with the company for a period of one year. In spite of this, she was freed from her obligations under the contract in September 2016. Since then, she had maintained her status as a professional wrestler on the independent circuit.
The wrestling world quickly came together after hearing the devastating news that the winner of Tough Enough in 2016 had passed away at the age of 30. Sara Lee won the competition in 2016. Bull James, a fellow wrestler, has established a GoFundMe account in order to assist Lee’s husband, Cory, and their three children.
Within the first twenty-four hours of the campaign, WWE superstars such as Becky Lynch, CM Punk, and Natalya Neidhart made donations to the cause, and the total amount raised by the campaign quickly surpassed fifty thousand dollars.
According to what was stated in the post that James made, “Every penny earned from this will go directly to Cory and the kids.” Wrestlers are a close-knit group that is always quick to support one another in times of need, as evidenced by the tremendous response, which is a testament to the community’s tight-knit nature. During this trying time, we are keeping the Lee family in our thoughts and prayers.
