Although Lee’s time in the WWE was brief, she managed to leave her mark on the company. Following her victory in Tough Enough in 2015, she was offered and accepted a contract with the company for a period of one year. In spite of this, she was freed from her obligations under the contract in September 2016. Since then, she had maintained her status as a professional wrestler on the independent circuit.
The wrestling world quickly came together after hearing the devastating news that the winner of Tough Enough in 2016 had passed away at the age of 30. Sara Lee won the competition in 2016.
