Serial Boat Burglary Suspect Arrested in Miami

A serial boat burglary suspect was arrested in Miami.

According to law enforcement, throughout the month of July, Robert Esposito, of Miami, targeted boats from Stuart to Hobe Sound in South Florida, stealing approximately $60,000 worth of Garmin GPS units during a crime spree that impacted numerous boat owners.

After a month-long investigation into a string of vessel burglaries across Martin County, Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Detectives arrested 29-year-old Robert Esposito.

According to local law enforcement, Esposito was charged with ten counts of Grand Theft, eight counts of Burglary to a Vessel, and eight counts of Traveling Across County Lines to Commit a Burglary.

Esposito was arrested and held in Miami on a $540,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office announced that another criminal found out the hard way that taking the wrong exit into Martin County comes with some expensive consequences.
