Here we are talking about Stephanie Bissonnette Cause of Death. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a dazzling light knows how terrible it can be, but it may be more difficult when the person is 32 years old. Death at such a young age might be difficult to understand, mainly when it results from something arbitrary and mysterious. Broadway fans worldwide are mourning the loss of dancer and choreographer Stephanie Bissonnette, who passed away on December 18, 2022.

Stephanie, only 32 years old, starred in the documentary Ensemble about Broadway dancers coping with the COVID-19 shutdown and acted on Broadway as softball player Dawn in Mean Girls. So what contributed to Stephanie Bissonnette’s demise?

What is Stephanie Bissonnette Cause of Death?

The Mayo Clinic describes medulloblastoma as “a malignant (cancerous) brain tumor that originates in the cerebellum, a region at the base of the brain. Movement, balance, and muscle coordination are all regulated by the cerebellum.”

The clinic also says, “Although it can happen to anyone, medulloblastoma most frequently affects young children. The most frequent malignant brain tumor in children, medulloblastoma is rare.”

Patients with medulloblastoma may undergo various surgical procedures, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, all of which Stephanie had to cope with after being given the disease. Although the five-year survival rate is 70%, that figure does not account for the stage of the disease at the time of diagnosis or even what happens beyond those five years.

After receiving her initial diagnosis in 2019, Stephanie talked with Survivor Net about her experience. “A twinge… it vanished in two seconds – it was extremely brief, and I was able to finish the concert that day,” she said, describing how she felt when performing an aerial. But she was able to detect the problem because of that.

If I had a typical 9 to 5 job, I don’t think we would have discovered the tumor, the woman claimed. “Just that brief time in the concert [made me wonder, “Why am I having problems today?] because I move around a lot and do crazy stuff for a job — I’ve been doing it since I was 5? There must be another issue at hand.

She underwent surgery nine days following her MRI, with a nine-month recuperation period. On October 3 of that year, she finally rejoined the Mean Girls cast (which happens to be considered “Mean Girls Day”). Even so, after a three-year battle that ended in her death, the brain cancer finally took control. Producers were quick to express their sorrow because she was a key player in bringing Mean Girls to Broadway and was a member of the original cast.

As the Mean Girls community laments the passing of Stephanie Bissonnette, they tweeted, “Our hearts are broken.” “Stephanie, our original Dawn Sweitzer, was a member of our Broadway cast from the beginning. She adorned our stage with the fiercest talent Broadway has ever seen, filled our theatre with her companionship and laughter, and inspired us with her courage and fighting spirit.
