Carlos Parra’s de@th has not stopped his music from bringing people together. The songs he played for thousands of people for over a decade now carry the weight of a life cut short.
This truly saddens me. One of his admirers told 12News, “I was a huge fan,” at the public visitation conducted for his remains on Wednesday night. The casket in the center of the room was covered in flowers.
On Wednesday, Parra’s loved ones and admirers gathered in the days leading up to his funeral on Thursday. The 26-year-old sang lead for the band “Los Parras,” which he and his two brothers formed when they were young.
On Saturday, Parra was assassinated when he and his family were traveling back to their hometown of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, to honor Parra’s eldest brother’s birthday.

Then, Jaziel Camarillo recalls witnessing Parra and his sibling perform musical numbers during lunchtime at North High. A former classmate remarked, “They used to play in the ramada, and the joy they brought to everybody was amazing.” “He was always the life of the party, making sure everyone was laughing and having a good time,” we said.

Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 9925 W Thomas Road in Avondale, will host Thursday’s funeral services for the 26-year-old. The funeral service and burial are scheduled to start at 1:30. The event is open to the general public.
