The family of Jayna Lang Colorado woman who went missing after a solo outing to a local shopping mall has provided a sobering update on her case. Lang, 46, was last seen leaving her Littleton home on November 24, reportedly to go to the Outlets at Silverthorne. Her disappearance has kept her family and the community in a state of distress as search operations carry on.
Disappearance Leads to Search Operations
The day she vanished, Lang left her home driving her white 2016 Toyota 4Runner, which has a very distinctive license plate that reads “JAYNA.” Authorities with the Park County Sheriff’s Office released a statement in the days following her disappearance asking the public to be on the lookout for Lang and her vehicle.
Especially suspicious were Lang’s numerous trips to Park County and the Indian Mountain subdivision. Despite public appeals for anything, and local searches, no trace of Lang or her car was found.
Her brother, Eric Horvat, remembered that his last conversation with her was on the day she disappeared and how uneventful the trip to Silverthorne seemed. But when she failed to come to work over the next few days, family members became concerned.
An update in the case of Lang came to light nearly a week after she disappeared, on December 1. Stacy Laigo-Horvat, Lang’s sister-in-law, took to Facebook to say the family was devastated but didn’t release any details.
“Sending this with broken hearts and tears,” the post read, thanking the community for their support through trying times. Their attention has now, however, shifted toward digesting the recent development amid uncertainty still over his fate.
Community and Authorities Rally Together
Attention on the case has come in droves, as locals and organizations alike take to supporting the Lang family. For the police’s part, calls for someone in the public to come forth who knows something about Lang’s whereabouts.
The disappearance of Lang brought into focus the emotional devastation such incidents visit family and friends, and how important community involvement is during search operations. As the family goes through this difficult time, they are still optimistic that very soon, answers will come forth to give them closure.
The public is invited to report anything relevant to the Park County Sheriff’s Office during its investigation.
