Vasquez’s journey on the show started with a powerful four-chair turn in the Blind Auditions, his vocal prowess and emotional depth standing out right away. Keeping Michael Bublé as his coach throughout the season, he delivered stunning performances that kept him solidly a fan favorite.
The competition was stiff, as Vasquez was pitted against a pool of talented finalists: Danny Joseph (Team Reba), Jeremy Beloate (Team Snoop), Shye (Team Bublé), and Sydney Sterlace (Team Gwen). But Vasquez’s emotive delivery and undeniable talent ultimately gave him the grand prize of $100,000, a recording contract, and, of course, the coveted Voice trophy.
The finale exposed the ranks of the Top 5 finalists through America’s votes. Jeremy Beloate from Team Snoop ranked fifth, followed by Danny Joseph of Team Reba, who was ranked fourth. Sydney Sterlace of Team Gwen took third place, impressing fans and her coach, Gwen Stefani, with her growth throughout the competition.
Shye, the other star of Team Bublé, took second place. Bublé said that he was “going to work” with Shye in the future, starting an exciting musical voyage from here and now. Finally, the most expected moment came, and Carson Daly called Sofronio Vasquez the winner. Dramatic, Vasquez fell to his knees, with tears running down his face as he accepted the award.
The night was also filled with all-star performances featuring appearances by Dan + Shay, Kelly Clarkson, Snoop Dogg, and Sting. Season 25 winner Asher HaVon closed the evening with a heartfelt ballad dedicated to coach Reba McEntire.
